As a Senior Principal Engineer for Capacity, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our Client’s work depends on a Senior Principal Engineer for Capacity joining the team to bring professionalism and initiative to a fast-paced environment that offers extensive options for training, certification, and career advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering, operations and maintenance for capacity virtualization, storage area networks and other storage capabilities including Fiber Channel networking
  • Troubleshoot and restore complex capacity problems across the enterprise related to replication strategies and capacity strategies across wide area networks
  • Manage capacity allocation, space, and replication strategies
  • Analyze and resolve problems related to capacity systems and network storage solutions
  • Design virtual capacity clusters and physical-to-virtual conversion of servers
  • Design the environment for High-Availability and Data Recovery
  • Assist with development of disaster recovery plans
  • Design or Assist with Business continuity plan
  • Work with both VMWare and Hyper-V virtualization technologies
  • Work with Windows Server architecture

Requirements

  • Top Secret Clearance (SCI eligibility)
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related technical discipline
  • 17+ years’ experience with administration of various SAN and NAS storage architectures
  • Working knowledge and application of backup concepts and practices including experience with backup retention, scheduling, and replication for disaster recovery purposes
  • Working knowledge of database backups, full and incremental backup technologies and storage de-duplication and changed block tracking
  • Skills in Disaster Recovery (DR), Network Storage, Systems Engineering, Troubleshooting, Virtualization
  • Ability to convey conceptual ideas both written and verbally; Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • CompTIA – Security+ CE – CompTIA Certifications
  • Acquire DoD Instruction 8570 Level II Certification within 6 months of assignment
