Technical Writer

  • Gather information from end users and work with software developers to answer user questions and to solve user issues
  • Obtain technical data from independent observation, research, review with technical staff members, and studies of published materials and existing documentation
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs), analysts, programmers, and other technical staff to obtain relevant information on technologies, methods, and standards of software, applications, and systems
  • Interface with a diverse group of end users to understand and resolve user issues with the system
  • Document and track user issue resolution in ticketing system and leverage this data to develop FAQs and other knowledge management materials
  • Create, edit, and manage material prepared by other writers
  • Perform quality assurance on all materials
  • Demonstrate and leverage effective questioning, written communication, verbal communication, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and technical writing skills


  • TS/SCI FSP Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree or High School diploma plus additional 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 2+ years of experience in a role that requires technical writing, such as a Technical Writer, Configuration Manager, Systems Engineer, Knowledge Manager, Instructional Designer, Technical Trainer, or similar role
  • 2+ years of experience with creating documents that effectively communicate highly technical material to non-technical audiences
  • Experience with research and analysis
  • Experience successfully managing multiple projects and delivering on tight deadlines
